About the Role
The Technician Supervisor - MCE will lead and oversee field operations across MCE and construction projects, supervising crews, coordinating daily site activities. This position is responsible for ensuring safety and quality standards are consistently met while managing materials, documentation, costs, and customer needs. They will also resolve field issues, support employee performance, and help keep projects on schedule and running efficiently.
The successful candidate must be a safety-focused leader who can supervise multiple crews, lead employees, communicate effectively with customers and management, and keep projects organized, productive, and on schedule.
What You’ll Do
- Promote and comply with all Company and client safety policies and procedures.
- Establish and maintain good working relationships with customers to encourage repeat and referral business.
- Must be able to perform all duties required for field service, MCE, or access labor.
- Coordinate and delegate site activities of all field personnel to achieve deadlines and production goals.
- May work with client to keep the project on schedule and under budget.
- Plan and order necessary materials or equipment to maintain crew productivity.
- Thorough working knowledge of specifications and how they impact the job quality and production.
- Investigate and resolve personnel disputes or customer feedback by making recommendations to leadership and/or upper management for final action.
- Ensure timely delivery of materials, confirm there is no damage to the materials and verify quantities.
- Monitor paper flow (physical and electronic) to ensure all documents are accounted for, filled out completely, legibly and filed or distributed to the appropriate parties and systems.
- Recommend best practice improvements for safety, quality, production, performance.
- Understand specifications, work instructions, addendums and change orders.
- Must be able to recognize any changes to work plan and track accordingly.
- Perform minor job plans with tasks and levels of responsibility.
- Check quality of completed work.
- Monitor and audit productivity reports, safety documentation and customer forms.
- Working with manager, handle customer complaints immediately
- Ensure that proper safety equipment is available and being used properly.
- Facilitate and administer technical and safety training directly, through in-house channels or coordinate appropriate 3rd party training required for project personnel.
- Assist manager by appraising work performance of employees and addressing complaints of employees in the field.
- Perform all the above duties on active project assignment and all or portion of the above duties for additional projects working concurrently.
- Any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
- 3 years of field experience working on MCE or Construction. Lead Experience, managing Construction or MCE jobs.
- Take reasonable care of your own and others' health and safety, demonstrating a strong commitment to zero unsafe behavior related to personnel, customers, and communities we serve.
- Supervise multiple crew leaders or points of contact (POCs) and up to 35 or more employees.
- Considerable knowledge of all relative renewable services tools, machinery methods and procedures
- Must be able to forecast, monitor and report on general project costing and activities.
- Understanding service methods and best practices, service delivery and customer expectations
- Demonstrate leadership, leading by example, motivate workers and communicate with workers, subordinates, service managers, senior management, and clients.
- Computer experience with Microsoft office, E-mail, and Internet
- Ability to work well under pressure and within timelines.
- Read and interpret documents like safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Write routine reports and correspondence.
- Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
- Calculate figures and organize project costs and activities into clear and concise reports (daily, weekly, monthly)
- Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Interpret a broad variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Extensive travel throughout the United States depending on project assignments, meetings, and training schedules.
